Generated Insight – The new feature in Google Analytics
Unexpected increases in conversions, skyrocketing traffic, sluggish sales of a specific product… Google data can hold some surprises. The problem is that it’s not always easy to spot them quickly. That’s why Google Analytics has rolled out a new feature: Generated Insight. Find out more.
What is Generated Insight in Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is rolling out a new feature: Generated Insights. The goal? To decode data anomalies. For example, an unexpected conversion spike. While these data fluctuations can be positive, it is important to detect them quickly in order to understand their origin. This allows you to adjust your advertising campaigns and make smarter budget decisions.
But how does Google Analytics identify anomalies? By using artificial intelligence, and more specifically natural language. At a glance, Generated Insight reveals trends and anomalies in your advertising campaigns. No more need to spend hours analysing data manually. AI automatically detects significant fluctuations in data. All you have to do is react proactively to what is actually happening.
After detecting anomalies or trends, Generated Insight provides you with clear and accurate explanations of these anomalies and trends. To do this, the tool analyses several combinations of dimensions and metrics. It proactively identifies connections between dimensions that may explain data fluctuations, such as an increase or decrease in purchases on different dates.
How to use the new GA feature?
Whether it is anomaly detection or explanations provided, all information appears natively at the top of the detailed report.
In terms of format, Generated Insight is designed to be very intuitive. And for good reason: it also uses natural language to convey information to you. Like a “Key Takeaway” summary, the tool presents its explanations in a conversational manner. You can even indicate how relevant its feedback is by clicking on the Like or Dislike button at the bottom right of the preview. Thanks to these comments, Google Analytics will be able to improve its explanations in the future.

What is the benefit of Generated Insight?
By automatically explaining data fluctuations in plain language, the new Google Analytics feature saves you hours of manual analysis. No more spending hours trying to understand why conversion rates are rising or falling. Google Analytics’ AI does it for you. The result? You can adjust campaigns more quickly in response to performance variations. In doing so, you optimise your budget and gain a competitive advantage.
Between the speed of identifying anomalies and a better understanding of success factors, you can make better decisions for your campaigns.
