Google announces beta release of DV360 v4 API
Over the past few months, the DV360 API has undergone a series of improvements. A few weeks after the latest update, which added support for new values, Google is now preparing for a large-scale change. The American company has released a beta version of its DV360 v4 API.

An upcoming version that will stand out thanks to three changes. Firstly, the OptimizationObjective field will now be mandatory for new insertion orders. We also note the removal of targeting management for Campaign and InsertionOrder resources, while FirstAndThirdPartyAudience has been renamed FirstPartyAndPartnerAudience.
New features for DV360 API v3
As mentioned above, this new version is only available in beta. This means that further major changes could be made to the DV360 v4 API in the coming weeks. These changes will be listed in the release notes as soon as they are published, so advertisers are advised to check these notes regularly.
Version 3 of the DV360 API therefore still has a bright future ahead of it. That is why Google has also announced that it has added new features to this v3. These include the addition of a new CreativeType with associated AssetRoles to support asset-based creations. New targeting options by geographical region have also been implemented.
Please note that these new features, which are now active in the current version, will also be available in the next tested version.
What steps should advertisers take?
Over the months, the DV360 API has continued to improve to help advertisers manage and automate their campaigns. To take advantage of the new features recently added to the current version, advertisers must first update their client libraries.
Finally, several steps are required to make the big shift and migrate from v3 to v4 of the DV360 API. Advertisers will need to update their URLs and update the application. To help advertisers make this transition as smoothly as possible, Google has provided a comprehensive guide on its support page.
